While other coffee pod brewers are growing more complicated, with more and more electronic features, the Cuisinart Commercial 1-Cup Coffeemaker represents coffee-pod brewing at its simplest.
Designed originally for use in hotel and motel rooms, it is very simple to operate. No timers, no choices in brew size, no variations in coffee strength.
The brewer takes about three minutes to brew a single cup of coffee and then delivers 8 ounces every time. For most of us, an 8-ounce brew is just right, as it fills a regular sized coffee mug.
The fact that it was designed for commercial use is no bad thing. While the unit is very simple, it also has a rugged construction, designed and built for daily use.
Even the pod holder is simple. No fancy levers or anything like that. You just pull out the pod tray, add the pod, add water to the tank, close the tray and press the brew button.
If you want more features, you’ll need to look at some of the higher-end brewers. For instance, the water reservoir takes enough water for one brew only.
But if all you ever want is an 8-ounce mug of coffee from time to time, this could be your best buy.
