Review: Bunn My Café MCP single-serve coffee maker.
If you are looking for the coffee pod brewer that gets everything right, all in one machine, the Bunn My Café MCP is what you’re looking for.
You don’t have to worry about which size of coffee pods you can use, and which you can’t – because it accepts all sizes.
You don’t have to worry about small water tanks that run out too quickly, because it is a big tank, and it can be filled by pouring water in at the top.
And no, it won’t break down after the first few weeks. This is a commercial quality brewer that is designed and constructed to last for years.
Which brings us to the one potential fly in the ointment. The Bunn My Café brewer is significantly more expensive that other pod brewers, like the Senseo models.
But before worrying about the price, let’s take a look at the principal benefit of this coffee maker – the fact that it accepts every size of coffee pod.
Bunn made the decision not to market its own line of coffee pods. Instead, it built a machine that accepts every size of pod from every supplier out there.
This means as a coffee lover, you can choose from a huge selection of pods, from Senseo, Melitta, Folgers, Juan Valdez, Gala and even Starbucks.
As an added bonus, the Bunn My Café also brews tea, using a patented Pulse-Brew technology. The machine comes with two pod holders, one you can use for coffee and the other you can use for tea.
Other welcome features include the sliding control at the base of the machine that enables you to choose your brew size: anywhere from 4 ounces to 12 ounces, depending on whether you are brewing for a cup, a mug or a travel mug.
All in all, this is the best of the pod brewers. It has a sturdy construction, a large water reservoir, a choice of brew sizes and total flexibility when it comes to buying coffee pods.
Just be sure you choose the MCP version, which is the one reviewed here. The MCA version is more for office use, and enables you to plumb the machine in to your water supply.
